Catney One is a veterinary supplement by EMASCO that supports renal function in cats with chronic renal insufficiency, acting as a phosphate binder that reduces phosphate absorption from food.
How it works
The active ingredient, lanthanum carbonate (880 g/kg), binds phosphate in the digestive tract to form an insoluble complex excreted in the faeces — so it never reaches the bloodstream. Elevated phosphate is one of the heaviest burdens on a cat's failing kidneys.
How to use
- One sachet (500 mg) daily per cat.
- Sprinkle over food and mix — suitable for any food type.
- With dry food: mix first with a little wet food, paste or gel on a spoon, then serve the regular meal.
- If your cat takes oral medication: give Catney One three hours before or one hour after.
- Avoid high-phosphorus foods alongside it, and always provide fresh water.
